Remove Unwanted Odors From Your Car

Getting rid of cigarette smoke and other lingering odors can be a problem, especially in your car. While rolling down the windows can seem effective, they can’t stay down all the time. That means that unwanted odor has more time to linger and ingrain itself in your car’s carpet and seats. Fortunately there are effective ways to remove unwanted odors from your car that won’t cost you a dime.

  • Charcoal – As it turns out, charcoal has another use besides grilling steaks. Leave a bag in the back of your car overnight. The charcoal will remove the smell, not mask it, and leave you with an odorless car. As an added bonus, you can still use the charcoal for a weekend barbeque.
  • Cinnamon Sticks – A great smell for winter, cinnamon sticks can overpower nearly any smell. Boil several sticks in water then pour that water into a mug. Let the mug cool in your car with the windows up. The end result will be a wonderful smell that passengers will love.
  • Newspaper – Believe it or not, physical newspapers can be quite useful in removing unwanted odors. Crumple up a few pages and throw them in your car. Let them sit overnight and they’ll absorb the unwanted smell, leaving you with an odorless car!
