Did you know St. Patrick’s Day is traditional associated with the color blue? Some think the color change happened because of Ireland’s beautiful green landscape. Others theorize it has something to do with the legend of the shamrock representing the Holy Trinity.

When Irish immigrants first came to the US, they were discriminated against and often lived near other minorities. They became exposed to corned beef through their Jewish neighbors, adopting the dish to boil in a pot with cabbage to add more flavor. In Ireland, pork and potatoes is more traditional.
